Changan FOB vs CIF price: comparing export quotations
Two prices can describe very different scopes of supply. A useful vehicle quotation identifies the exact vehicle, named place or port, trade term and all included services.
Name the quotation basis
Request the applicable trade term and named location in writing. Ask which transport, insurance and export-related items are included. A domestic retail guide price cannot be compared directly with a quotation that includes international transport.
Separate destination charges
Destination taxes, import clearance, registration and other local charges depend on the order and destination. Ask the receiving importer or local adviser to verify the applicable requirements and costs. Avoid treating an unverified estimate as a guaranteed landed price.
Compare a complete order
Use the same model, trim, colour, quantity and destination when comparing proposals. Confirm purchasing terms, responsibilities and estimated milestones before proceeding. The agreed contract and quotation should describe the actual order.
